Tiashan Mountain
From the city of Tai'an went to Mount Taishan, the highest place
nearby. Taishan has been referred to as "the head of the Five Mountians".
It has been recorded that 72 kings of the pre-Qin period journeyed
here to worship and pray to heaven. They were followed by emperors
of the Qin, Han, Tang, and Qing as well as the Ming dynasty. Buddhists
and Taoists come to spread their religions. We drove in the bus part
of the way up then we took a gondola to this point. Here we found these
shops. Some were typical tourist shops but many were coffee and tea
houses and little cafes. |
Tiashan Mountain Steps
Starting the walk up the mountian we walked up these steps to
the temple at the top. |
At the Top of Mount Tiashan
From the shops and a walk up 600 steps to the top of Mount Tiashan
we found ourselves at this temple. The stone marker indicates that
Mount Tiashan is 1545 meters in height (about 5069 feet). Left by the
Chinese worshipers are the "Locks of Love" and the scarlet ribbons. |
The Tiashan Mountains
On the way down Mount Tiashan on the gondola we were treated
with this wonderful view of the Tiashan Mountains. |
